Movie Review: The Quick & The Undead
This has quickly become my favorite zombie film to date. The Quick and the Undead is a visual zombie survival guild.
Occasionally the LOP Team likes to pull some of our interviews from the vault for re-airing. These oldies but goodies were originally corralled during the days of LOP Magazine. They say that good wine and cheeses get better with age, and we say “why not interviews as well?!?!?” Be sure to also check out our new interviews and reviews that will be airing soon!

I love the way director/writer Gerald Nott gave a different way of looking at zombie films, like a day in the life of a zombie hunter. It follows a bounty hunter by the name of Ryn Baskin through a world of diseased infected flesh eaters as he kills his way to live. There is a price on zombie heads (figure of speech, it’s actually fingers) and Baskin is the man to collect. Until he runs into a band of greedy bounty hunters who are looking to collect all the bounty. So Baskin has to fight not only the zombies off but other bounty hunters as well. This film has everything…
The Acting is great from the main characters. Ryn Baskin (played by Clint Glenn) is the bad guy we are rootting for. He is the ultimate zombie hunter with a secret up his sleeve. Blythe Remington (played by Parrish Randall) is the leader of the gang that is trying to get the upper hand on Baskin and his bounty money.Remington and his gang includes Hunter Leah (Played by Erin McCarthy) is a woman bounty hunter but don’t let that fool you, she has everything that is needed to be a killer. Walters (Played by Jeff Swarthout) , now he is my favorite bad guy in this because he is this huge killing machine that is a soldier boy type. Jackson (played by Dion Day) is no token black guy in this film. He is all about Jackson though! Hans (played by Nicola Giacobbe) is the zombie chummer in this film and supplies body parts to the hunters for the hunts (very unique idea on Mr. Notts part) he is a little to much of a rat for me to like his role but still great acting. Finally the zombies (too much to list.. but all very good!) because without them… this wouldn’t be a zombie film. I thought the actors playing the zombies did a terrific job at scaring the shit out of me and I know anyone who watches this film.
*Another thing I want to touch on is the FX work done in this film was amazing. The gun shots were great on impact and of course the zombie makeup was two thumbs up!
*The soundtrack was also very fitting and added to the film. A good film need a good soundtrack to bring it to life. The Quick and the Undead had just that.
This film is a great zombie piece and is an instant classic in my book but I want you to be the judge of that.
