The World Famous Unbelievable Laundry Detergent Man!

Review of Jose “Nino” Mesarina’s
Unbelievable Laundry Detergent Man!

Occasionally the LOP Team likes to pull some of our interviews from the vault for re-airing. These oldies but goodies were originally corralled during the days of LOP Magazine. They say that good wine and cheeses get better with age, and we say “why not interviews as well?!?!?” Be sure to also check out our new interviews and reviews that will be airing soon!

After I decided to make a trip to Chicago this summer to the Wizard World 2007 I found out that a buddy of mine Jose “Nino” Mesarina (Writer,Artist and Creator) was planning to be there as well. I was thrilled because I had been dying to chat with him about his comic character The Unbelievable Laundry Detergent Man. So I met him up and we got to talking. I grabbed issue 1 for review.

First off I want to fill everyone in. This issue was the back story on the character and how he started. I feel this was a very fun & new idea for comic characters.

We meet Jose Chalaco, dare I say a skinny nerdy little comic fan boy. After trouble comes knocking on the door of Jose, there is a chemical accidnet involving something that rhymes with the name of the comic…. That’s right Laundry Detergent!

This comic has everything it takes to be a great title… great art, strong storyline, and science! ULD Man is a very unique character and whats best yet it helps us to remember whats it’s like to root for the underdog again. I think many comics forget that in their character building steps. So many times do I see characters being the rich and powerful or the well-built and successful. ULD Man is none of the above and makes a new chapter to the superhero handbook.

So move over Batman, step aside X-men… make way for a hero for this day and age… The Unbelievable Laundry Detergent Man!

P.S. Drinking Soap will Kill you, Take that advice I know first hand… it happened to me.
